Timeline

1969

Verdell was born in Norwalk, Connecticut on January 09, 1969. He was the second oldest of six children but the big brother to all.

1987

Although Verdell graduated High School in Norwalk, Connecticut, he spent many years as a child in Santee, South Carolina.

September 1989

This was the month I met Verdell. He walked by me at work and offered me a peice of gum - little did I know that was the beginning of the rest of my life.

January 20, 1994

This is the day Olivia was born. What a day and night!! Verdell stood by me with the flu the entire time. He was so proud of himself because he didn't think he would make it!! I couldn't have done it without him.

January 19, 1996

This is the day Jordan was born. It was a very scary day for Verdell and I. Jordan was born with a serious heart condition which we knew nothing about. We researched for days and hours to understand how to deal with our little Jordan. Jordan's heart helped us to realize Verdell also had a similar condition. My two boys were scared - but we learned, hung in there and tried to get through it the best we could.

March 26, 1997

This was the day Jillian was born. Jillian was our third child... Piece of cake at this point...I had my third c-section but that was easy when you had somone like Verdell taking care of you. He healed many wounds, made many meals and stayed up many nights to get me through it!! He was truly the best....

January, 2004

This was one of the saddest days in Verdell's life. This was the day his gramma passed away. Verdell felt such a great loss when he had to say good bye to his grandma - it breaks my heart to think of it. This loss changed his life; it was like it took something away from him. He spoke of his grandma often and would cry when he did. It was hard for him to imagine life without her. He always looked at her picture and told her how much he missed her. He spoke of her with such respect and love. He was such a strong man but this petite beautiful woman who lived to be 99 1/2 brought him to his knees. I know his grandma and his granddaddy were there to help him on his new journey. May they rest in peace together.

October 27, 2004

Verdell passed away on October 27, 2004 at the age of 35 doing something he loved most.This day broke the hearts of many people but I am sure not as much as it broke his. He had the warmest heart and the greatest sense of humor - I know he misses being a Dad and a husband because he was the greatest at both.
